Cbank: Russian banks’ profit soars to 587 bln rbl in Jan–Mar

MOSCOW, Apr 16 (PRIME) -- The combined net profit of Russian banks soared to 587 billion rubles in January –March from 353 billion rubles in the same period of 2018, the central bank said in a report on Tuesday.

The report said that 373 banks posted a net profit of 654 billion rubles and 93 a net loss of 67 billion rubles.

Retail lending rose 4.3% in the period, while corporate lending increased 2.3%.

Retail deposits with banks rose 0.8% on the year in January–March and 0.6% on the year to 28.2 trillion rubles in March.
